Background: Telecom Italia group is the biggest telecom carrier in Italy. It provides telephony services, mobile service, media, internet services and etc.

Challenges and goals

◆  Provide redundancy power and remotely monitor the power data and environmental information in the cabinet;

◆  The 2 power sources should be designed independently. The maintenance of one source should not affect the other one;

◆  Different socket types were required to feed various servers;

Solutions

◆  Managed PDU-RPDU

 Customized 2U RPDU with dual input sources and mixed outlets including IEC and Schuko socket. The Hot-Swap controller module can remotely monitor the power data on input source A/B and the environmental information in the cabinet. The two power sources are totally independent to each other.
