Background

The Chinese Sports Lottery’s new data center located in the Beijing economic and technological development zone. The new data center will require 780pcs smart PDU, power cord of 11000 meters,  industrial plug and connectors 838 sets and T/H sensor 1158pcs.

Challenges and goals

◆  Should be able to provide the power consumption down to individual devices. User can set up threshold and get alarm notification by SNMP Trap, Email, buzzer sounds and etc;

◆   Not allow  to trigger the front-end circuit breakers when overload or short circuit happens;

◆   Environmental monitoring is needed and can work with the DCIM system;

◆   The outlet has to be lockable to prevent from accidently unplug;

Benefits

◆    The local and remote power monitoring can help the data center manager make informed decision to increase the reliability of the data center;

◆  The environmental monitoring can help to prevent overcooling or overheating in the cabinet to improve the energy efficiency;

◆  User can manage all PDUs by Ethernet communication or serial communication.  The measured power metric can be used to improve the PUE in the date center;
